Nail Polish Clay Pots |
This idea was 100% from my best crafting partner Kalley.
She saw a post on Monday and showed up at my house with 20+ different containers of nail polish, a kitty litter tray, and about 10 clay pots of all different sizes on Friday. It just so happens that my neighbor Kristin was also at the house dropping off ZZ's b-day gift.
I use nail polish for lots of different things not on my nails...
- stop a run in panty hose
- label a water bottle or anything really
- clear nail polish on rust
But I've never tried to do art with it.
This should turn out interesting.

We found that quick work has better results as the polish would only float on top for a little bit.
We also realized that what was first tagged a "fail" could easily be re-dunked and reinvented into something fantastic!
You may want to test the flow of each kind of polish - they all left a different "slick" in the water.
Some just spread out, some were in dots and then some stayed in lines.
We didn't mess with the "slick" once it was on there, just got the pot and rolled!
Roll all around until you get everything.
And if you miss a spot or don't have quite enough color to cover it, no big deal. Just dip it again!
One tip - we laid them out to rest on paper towels.
These ended up sticking to the pots and required some nail polish to get them off.
Use wax paper! or something else that won't leave something unwanted behind.

I am a online health coach who loves having a healthy life style.
I'm am active person that always needs to be doing something with their hands.
I find when I break out my paint or my glue gun to tackle something I've seen on Pintrest on online it calms me.
Not only do I have something to concentrate on, it's a fun to add some friends and a glass of wine in.
Better than going out - I wake up to a fun new decoration instead of a headache!
